CONTROLLER
- Measure resistance to ground.
- Inspect outer door: Is it straight? Does it move freely? Is it closed all the time?
- Check to assure that there are no crushed, cut or damaged wires.
- Remove any extra wire from inside of controller.
- There should be no more than 12" of extra wire at any field connection.
- Check field wiring. There should be no coils of wire hanging in, on, under or around controllers. All extra wire should be cut to length, in conduit or in separate enclosure. Power lines and sensor cables must be in separate conduit and sealed off.
- Inspect inside of enclosure looking for signs of moisture, bugs, loose wires, and burnt or discolored parts.
- Report any openings, not plugged or sealed properly to owner. They should be plugged or sealed.
- Measure incoming voltage with system off.
- Test all fuses.
- Test all indicating and warning lights.
- Test “LevelMaster™” level meter circuit.
- Test intrinsically safe IS barrier.
- Test tank full high level circuit.
- Test leak detection circuit.
- Verify flow meter is working. Use hand held simulator if pump is not running.
- Change corrosion inhibitors yearly.
- Change desiccant dryers when the color changes from blue to pink.
PUMP
- Measure voltage and amperage while pump is running.
- Megger motor lead by disconnecting it at control panel. Caution: Do NOT megger low voltage equipment.
- Log run time and number of cycles run.
- Visually inspect pump discharge. Look for signs of precipitation and/or dirt. Note decrease in flow and/or signs of precipitation. Are there indicators that pumps should be pulled and cleaned?
- Verify that level meter readings correspond with actual changes in liquid level.
- Complete Form 200.
